Admin How to Seed a Competition
Summary
Vie enables the admin to seed competitions. For seeding you need to do 2 things
- Ensure the players are in the correct seeding order with the highest seed at the top.
- Ensure the number of seeds for the competition are correct, if you have 45 people in the knockout maybe you might want to have 16 seeds.
Worth also pointing out that:
- Byes are automatically created by the system.
- Any unseeded player will be picked for the draw at random.
Seed players in a competition
Goto club home
First click on the home button, then clubs button:

Use the gear icon to select the competition admin:

Remember, the competition must not be running to seed. If it is running you need to modify the competition and change the start dates, you can always change them back afterwards.
Seed players in competition
Use arrows to move players up and down:
- To move players up choose to top/+10/+5/+1
- To move players down choose to bottom/-10/-5/-1
Change number of seeds
To choose the number of seeds go back to the competition home (see above) and scroll to:
And simply change the number to the required amount. Remember enough players need to be signed up to the competition before you can select the correct seeding. i.e. if only 2 people have signed up so far you can’t choose 32 seeds.
